Some place in New Jersey:

Gotta love the internet!
I just got back from that part of town in Berlin where the riots used to take place on May 1st. It seems this night is going to be a lot more quiet even though there are armies of heavily shielded police around, which could be the reason it’s quiet but which also usually is the reason why things get out of hand. A weird world sort of a damned if you do and damned if you don’t.
But what I absolutely loath is the fact that the place looks like a landfill and smells like a big public toilet which isn’t far off on this night. Why do people do this? How come noone has the decency to just go into one of the many open places and use a restroom?
I’m sort of feeling a bit conservative feeling this way, however, if I was a tourist the only thing I could think of Germany is that they’re uncivilised barbarians with no culture whatsoever. And even being German I think that that is the case. Hmm… Sometimes I wonder if I’m gonna be one of those grumpy old men thirty five years from now complaining about everything… hope not even though I still would complain about completely trashing my Kiez.
I’ve found this thread about the daily horror we go through and I’m it makes life a little easier knowing that some of the people I respect very much go through the same problems as everyone else. But from now on, whenever I need reassurance whether I’m doing the right thing I’m going to read over this post:

Again, for the German speaking crowd… but it is a nice story about some con artist getting caught because of a blog post:
The times they are a’changing!
Quite impressive what can be done today
www.20minuten.ch: News von jetzt!
And this guy shows his work:
Very nice! Isn’t this what it’s all about?
Another one of Kinskis little escapades… it’s amazing to see this person, the energy is just overwhelming even though he really should do some anger management!
All I can say is: wow!!! Someones imagination really flew!
Someone actually went out of their way to produce this little video, pretty cool I think!
So, the first meeting with the guys was today. There were 23 inmates who wanted to find out more about the project the team and what the whole thing is about in general.
Overall I have the feeling it’s a really good group, from what I can tell, after all, I’m doing this for the first time too, so I don’t have a point of reference.
But if everything continues the way it is now, I think we’re going to have a good play and everyone involved will have grown a little, and isn’t that what it’s all about?
