So this is what it looks like at the moment:
Of course I’m happy, however, there is a tough road ahead still….
Well, well, well… what a team!
It is truly amazing what is going on with Germany’s team at the moment: very disciplined, enthusiastic, personal commitment from _every_ player, ideas, the list goes on and on. All the doubters and poo-poo-ers in Germany should really just take a step back and look at what they achieved.
Even if they don’t get the cup we still had unforgettable moments of soccer!
But playing like this they really don’t have to be afraid of anything out there. Statistically Germany is the second best team at the moment with Argentina being the best. Although Argentina and Spain have played only 2 games so far. But statistics are fun nonetheless… 😉
So finally Kirsha has her own blog and we shall see what news come in from around the globe… or inside of her head.
I should really be renaming these posts into from day x to post x because obviously I’m not writing something every day.
And this time it doesn’t even really have to do with the WC… mostly because the last couple of days I didn’t even watch it since I somewhat got bored with it. Of course I then missed the Argentina… so I missed 6 goals. Gosh I guess that would have been pretty boring too.
But I just stumbled across this:
YouTube – CRAZY REFEREE- MUST SEE!!!
Also worth a look…
I just found out about this name. It’s an interesting concept and I really like the fact that it’s agreed upon to use this as an alias for stuff you don’t want to be associated with. Very cool!
Ok, I know, it’s been more than three days, but I do have a life beside writing posts in here.
So, what is there to say? After watching most of the games it’s like it always is: the top teams aren’t as strong as they thought and the newcomers fight their a**es off! Which makes everything interesting for the viewer.
Switzerland held their own against France, although the french weren’t really that dangerous.
On the other hand Croatia had a real shot at defeating Brazil except that the strikers just weren’t up to the task. But they fought, and they didn’t look bad. On the contrary they made Brazil look like a bunch of lazy men (fat too in the case of Ronaldo… his time seems finished!).
And today: Germany – Poland, which for Poland is already a Final because they sort of _have_ to win to make it to the next round. But of course this is the case where I can’t be with the underdog… I really hope Germany drives it home and is safely qulalified for the next round.
OK, second day, I’m a little bit tired but still more than willing to sit through the games. After all, it’s England and Sweden playing and boy do they have good players…
And what happened? Well, it’s soccer and in soccer 2 + 2 is not always 4, that’s just the way it is and that’s what happened. England left with a measly 1:0 that could have easily turned around and Sweden even though they have some of the best forwards on the planet couldn’t do anything even though T+T (boy do I like that acronym!) were only 10 players for the second half, rightfully so though…
And then? Well… damn me, I must have missed the most interesting game yet (although Germanys game is looking better and better in comparison!) because the birthday party I went to was admittedly, well more interesting at the time. But the guys who saw the game raved about it. So there I go… but hey good social contact does indeed have its merits, does it not?
This is going to be my personal blog to see whether the things I write about this event are anywhere in line or not with what the mass media thinks.
First of all: I’m glad Germany won, it was well deserved they played great and we saw 4 goals! All of them were great and we should not forget that it’s really not that easy against a team that’s basically just in its own half most of the time. So things worked out great! Although yes, there were two goals against Germany but let’s face it: as long as you hit 2 more than your opponent who cares? It just makes the game a lot more interesting for the viewer.
Then Poland and Ecuador was basically a disaster. Poland was nervous, over-anxious and generally just totally not focused but rather all over the place. They had the better technique, the better chances and certainly the better players, but that’s not how soccer works! Soccer is a team sport and it also depends on those 2 minutes of a game where something is actually going down and Poland just didn’t have the focus to score a goal and yes, they did have bad luck hitting the bar twice! Poor guys!
But: the main issue was, I saw a _lot_ more slipping on the field than I have seen in other games so my question is whether something is wrong with the grass, perhaps a little too slippery to make everything more interesting, perhaps some way of trying to cheat the whole system, who knows…. but I will certainly make a not of this here.
This is pretty interesting, especially since recently I was thinking about how weird I read. Perhaps I have to get into comparative reading at some point to check my place as I don’t think the jumping around really slows me down, but then again, it might.
However: this video is not a recording of my personal reading behaviour
