The music business – summed up

Hunter S. Thompson put it in the right words and there’s nothing left to add:
The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There’s also a negative side.

Amateur bot programmers

OK, every now and then I give in to the occasinal Yahoo! Messenger bot and this time I though the result was rather funny. It seems that the programmers really don’t care about AI or such. This way they will only attract dumb people… oh wait, that’s probably the point… 😉

…ohh, I’m the one on the right… 🙂
Yahoo messenger bot

Ursüsse did it again!

OK, this was obviously going to happen and we pretty much knew it would. I mean, who books a HipHop Band to a Bluesfestival Brunch????

The result… before:
Before the show

… and at the end of the show:
The last song

What a dream…

Well, even the best of times has to come to an end.

To me the central experience in this match was the fact that Germany had one of the most apealing teams of the tournament. Fair, emotional yet in control, clever and with the will to win. But it just wasn’t enough. But personally I found the way the media as well as the people on the streets (well at least the streets I was on!) dealt with it was wonderful. No ripping the players in pieces, there really wasn’t anything to rip apart. There has to be a winner and now Italy is that winner. So what, really?

The German team was a great role model, although I hate to use that expression, but they managed to be an inspiring team with a strong and positive attitude and we can only hope that that is what stays with the people. And isn’t it the biggest achievement to create an atmosphere of support even beyond winning? I think it is.

Now, let’s make the final the biggest party ever! Now it doesn’t make a difference anymore who wins (well, almost… 😉 )

I say: great time was had by all and isn’t that what counts?
