Games convention 2006
So, yesterday I spent the day at the games convention in Leipzig (beautiful city, although I didn’t have a chance to see too much this time). It was very exhausting I found, although the noise level wasn’t nearly as high as at the Musikmesse…
There wasn’t a whole lot of new stuff I found… I was expecting more virtual reality type things, but there pretty much weren’t any. The weirdest thing was the Painstation, a part of the exhibition showcasing real world versions of the classic game Pong. As punsihment for lost points it featured electro shocks (yes, real ones), heat and a particularly painful punishment: the whip. And I am not kidding here, this thing was as a matter of fact painful.

These are the torture tools:

Music
Took the time tonight to listen to some things again. Well… mostly Johnny Cash.
It brings so many things to mind: Music isn’t the notes, it’s the performance at least as much if not more. It’s the choice of sounds which in this case led me to read up on Rick Rubin. I’m very impressed with his body of work mainly because it is soooo diverse. He really broke open the typecasting and closemindedness of the industry. An amazing producer.
Well, and the question remains: what am I gonna add (if anything) to this world…
Whatever. Music is still the best, well almost, thing in this world. Right up there is Kirsten of course who I have to think of everytime I listen to things that touch me very personally.

I just ran my site through this sitetree generator and, much to my surprise, out came a forest…
