Gorillas

My wife and I took our 4 weeks old daughter to the pediatrist the other day and came back with a new expression for pretty much everything we do.
What happened there is, that he looked at Lily and started moving his own head from side to side to see if she already follows him with her eyes. She did and then he said: “Ahh… gorillas in haze.”
Since then we are gorillas, Kirsten is the food-gorilla and I’m the changing-gorilla. Although it works well with anything: the dishes-gorilla, the work-gorilla, you get the picture.
I love it.

Idiot wanted!

This was just in my inbox. I hate these job offers in the media industry, they want someone who’s pretty much done everything they have to do but they don’t want to fork over the cash. Fail.

Sign’o’the times

Dear Employees,

Due to the current financial situation caused by the slowdown of economy,
Management has decided to implement a scheme to put workers of 40 years of
age and above on early retirement. This scheme will be known as RAPE
(Retire Aged People Early).

Persons selected to be RAPED can apply to management to be eligible for
the SHAFT scheme (Special Help After Forced
Termination)
. Persons who have been RAPED and SHAFTED will be reviewed under the SCREW
programme (Scheme Covering Retired Early Workers). A person may be RAPED
once, SHAFTED twice and SCREWED as many times as Management deems
appropriate.

Persons who have been RAPED can only get AIDS (Additional Income for
Dependants & Spouse) or HERPES (Half Earnings for Retired Personnel Early
Severance). Obviously persons who have AIDS or HERPES will not be SHAFTED
or SCREWED any further by Management.

Persons who are not RAPED and are staying on will receive as much SHIT
(Special High Intensity Training) as possible.
Management has always prided itself on the amount of SHIT it gives to the
employees. Should you feel that you do not receive enough SHIT, please
bring to the attention of your Supervisor. They have been trained to give
you all the SHIT you can handle.

Sincerely, The Management

Dear friends,
Here come the happy new year wishes to all of you! I hope that your holidays were good and you had some time with your loved ones!
It was a crazy last year for me as some of you know but I have a feeling that 2009 will bring many many new and exciting things not the least of which is our baby that is going to be born sometime mid march…. yeah!!!!
The year will start with the showing of “Stepnica” on Wednesday January 7th at 10pm at the Babylon in Berlin Mitte, so please drop by I’ll definitely be there!
Also I have just learned that “Tödlicher Zweifel” is going to be included in the “Tiburon International Film Festival” in San Francisco. I’m very proud and I will let you know about the actual date and time, who knows, maybe you’re travelling and won’t know what else to do in SF… 😉
Since getting my iPhone I’m much more active on the social network platforms such as Twitter , Facebook , LinkedIn and to a lesser extent Myspace, so please, if you like, let’s connect on any of those services. But as always, there’s also my webpage.
The Berlinale is around the corner and I hope that I will be able to see more films than last year… if you’re going and don’t know who to go with, let me know!
Also, I have a new mobile number, so please update your address books: +49 (0) 151 – 2520 2283
I would love to hear what’s going on in your life so please send me an update if you feel like it!
And in spirit with my current situation: a road that goes somewhere (in the Black Forrest) and a picture of me and Kirsten after getting married.
All the best and into a successful new year! I already love 2009!!!
