Who puts singing behind dialogue???? It doesn’t work and it’s manipulative to no end, even though I understand it emotionally and it manipulates in the direction I like, but it takes energy away from what the people actually say and that’s what I like to hear. Not the sappy song.
Please documentary filmmakers, make sure people hear what you want to say and don’t editorialize too much with subliminal messages. That’s how the other side operates, we have to be better than that.
