Janelle Monae’s ‘Dirty Computer’ -Review on Rolling Stone

I stumbled on this review and watched the film.

The good:
I really like the aesthetic imaginations
many outstanding musical elements

The not so good:
It’s basically a hedonism fest
The social themes and challenges are tackled on a very superficial level.
For my taste it is too oversexualized.

Das Problem an Social Media ist, dass der Erfolg von Witzen nicht mehr von ihrer Bauart, sondern fast ausschließlich vom Thema abhängig ist. Der Verfasser muss sich also nicht mehr um seinen eigenen Geschmack kümmern, sondern um alles, was in der Welt grad so passiert. Also mit sehr großer Sicherheit um Dinge, die zwar manchen Menschen extrem wichtig sind, ihm selber aber sehr egal. Das Resultat sind tausend mittelgute Witze über Waffengewalt, Horst Seehofer und sexuelle Belästigung.
