Premiere of “Schiff der Träume”

OK, last nights rehearsal was the first one to take place in the Kultursaal of the prison. So it was the first time we saw the stage design and the actors (read inmates) as well as the part of the team that hadn’t seen it yet were really impressed. It’s amazing how you can create a world within a confined and brutal environment such as a prison where you totally forget where you are. It really takes theatre back to what theatre should be and what supposedly only movies can do: be carried away from where you are. Which of course is also particularly necessary in a prison.

Anyway, the guys where thrilled and finally realized, that we’re not there to just entertain them for a couple of hours a couple of times a week, but to actually put on a production and give them a chance to do something creative for a change.

So, without further ado, I invite all of you who are in Berlin to watch this spectacle. And really it is a spectacle as some of the guys have outgrown themselves and really developed some nice licks for their characters. Also of course we have some good music, a good rapper and also a good arab pop singer.

The dates are as follows:
Premiere: May 15th
Shows: May 17th, 19th and 24th
All shows start at 6 pm but you have to be there at 5:30 pm
