Google presenting me with a Star Wars related ad is further proof that big data doesn’t work. Advertisers: wake up.

Remember when it comes to big data, Google is the generally proclaimed top tog in town. But after many years of me talking in tweets and posts about how little I like Star Wars, I’m really really surprised that they don’t know and sell advertising space to an unsuspecting advertiser who runs a Star Wars themed campaign. An the joke of it all? This time it was an ad for a service from Google. Online advertising is still as badly targeted as advertising on TV.
